UNOSSC Cities Project and UNDP Nepal Facilitate International Center on Small Hydropower’s Donation of Surgical Masks to Nepalese Cities and Partner
24 December 2020, New York – Last week, donation of 210,000 disposable medical masks mobilized by the United Nations Office for South-South Cooperation (UNOSSC), under its Project, from the International Center on Small Hydro Power (IC-SHP), reached the two Nepalese cities and partner which requested the support. United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Nepal participated the handover ceremonies on behalf of the donors. UNDP in China supported the procurement and logistics of these masks. These masks are being distributed by the two municipal governments to local health workers, volunteers, and the most vulnerable populations.

As well as share experiences and knowledge on how developing countries are adopting strategies and good practices to support tourism recovery and build back better with e-commerce as well as creative economy.

35 Cities in Uzbekistan benefit from UNOSSC Cities Project Urban Development Workshop
On 6 November 2020, mayors and deputy mayors of 35 mid-sized cities in Uzbekistan completed an online training on transforming cities by developing business and enhancing the service sector, supported by the United Nations Office for South-South Cooperation (UNOSSC), under its Cities Project framework.
Human Settlements: COVID-19 and Healthy City
The Urban Planning Society of China (UPSC) has jointly published the first volume of its Human Settlements journal of 2020, with the Ministry of Housing and Urban‑Rural Development of China, UN Habitat, and UPSC. Entitled ‘Covid-19 and Healthy City’, this volume, presents nine articles that center on how cities can work to build resilience to withstand times of crisis and come out even stronger. The Cities Project identified these articles and made available the English version.
