Call for Action: Medical Supplies Needed in China to Curb the Spread of the Novel Coronavirus
Affected by the novel coronavirus outbreak, many communities in China now suffer from the lack of availability of medical supplies. Global and coordinated efforts are essential to responding to the outbreak, which has been declared by WHO as a Public Health Emergency of International Concerns (PHEIC). South-South Cooperation Featured in Exhibition of China-UN Partnership in Beijing
The 40-year partnership between the United Nations and the People’s Republic of China is the focus of an exhibition opening in Beijing today. Mr. Jorge Chediek, Envoy of the Secretary-General on South-South Cooperation and Director of the United Nations Office for South-South Cooperation (UNOSSC) and Ms. Xiaojun Grace Wang, UNOSSC Deputy Director, were greeted by H.E. Mr. Zhong Shan, Minister of Commerce of China, and senior representative from the host government at the exhibition.
UNOSSC Deputy Director Speaks on the Eve of South-South Cooperation Day Khajura Pilot Project Highlighted
On 11 September, one day before the United Nations Day for South-South Cooperation of 2019, Deputy Director of the United Nations Office for South-South Cooperation Ms. Xiaojun Grace Wang was invited to an interview with the UN News, during which she highlighted the Cities Project’s needs assessment activities and pilot project incubation in Kahjura, Nepal as an example of South-South cities cooperation and the extensive cooperation between China and the UNOSSC.
