UNOSSC Highlights Partnerships with China on COVID-19 and Beyond
The United Nations Office for South-South Cooperation (UNOSSC) joined an informal roundtable organized by the United Nations Resident Coordinator’s Office in China (UN RCO) to commemorate the UN Day for South-South Cooperation. During the event, UNOSSC underscored the collaboration with partners in China, on COVID-19 and beyond.
UNDRR, UNOSSC, & PAHO/WHO Conclude a Joint Capacity Development Workshop on Making Cities Resilient & Preparing for the Future
6 October, New York – Over 2,500 participants from close to 150 countries and territories, with almost equal gender participation, attended a certified online training workshop, that took place between 8 September to 6 October 2020, focusing on making cities resilient. Close to 40 percent of participants were from national and local governments, and close to 30 percent from IGOs, CSOs and academia.
Call for Submission: Spotlighting Cities in Action for COVID-19 Responses, Deadline: 30 October 2020
The Cities Project launches this initiative to prepare a knowledge product that capitalizes on cities’ good practices as well as lessons learned in their COVID-19 responses for municipal and local policymakers and city-related practitioners. South-South Solidarity for COVID-19 Response: Henan Province in China Donates 10,000 Masks to Banjul, Gambia
UNOSSC Cities Project team mobilized a donation of 10,000 regular protective masks from the Henan Province of China to Banjul City of the Gambia last week.
